When working alongside our clients we ask four key questions to help them find their ideal space. So, in this blog post, we’re going to share those to help you choose the right CoWorking Space.
How to Choose a CoWorking Space
Below you’ll find our key things to consider, this isn’t an exhaustive list but it provides a great starting point for narrowing down the thousands of options…
What are your space requirements?
Do you need dedicated desks, hot desks for occasional use, and/or access to private meeting rooms? Different CoWorking spaces offer different setups so knowing what you need and for how many people is essential. One of the benefits of CoWorking spaces, however, is their flexibility. There are no lengthy commitments and its often possible to scale up your requirements as your needs evolve, so you don’t need to worry about planning 10 years into the future like you might with a traditional leased office.
What is your budget?
Coworking spaces offer various plans. Determining your monthly budget is a great way to help narrow down your search. If you know the area you’re looking for, ruling out options that are significantly above or significantly below your budget can help streamline your search from the get-go, saving you valuable time.
Which in-office amenities are important to you?
Things to think about include on-site refreshments, breakout areas, outside spaces, or even fitness facilities. For some businesses, these are nice-to-haves but for others, they form a key part of their team’s remuneration package. It’s also worth considering your team’s expansion and how various amenities might help you attract the best talent into your business in the future.
What are your location preferences?
Do you have a particular postcode in mind or is it a general area? How flexible are you on the location? It’s also worth considering its access to public transport and/or parking options to encourage regular use of the office by remote staff. Another thing to research is its local amenities, are there bars and restaurants nearby for staff to enjoy outside of office hours?
When choosing a CoWorking space there are lots of things to consider. In order to carry out the most effective search, we’d recommend drawing up a list of priorities based on the above and using that as your starting point. Essentially, where do you want to be based, how much are you looking to spend and what would you like to be included for that price?
